Latest Annual Report Statistics

In fiscal year 2011, the S.C. Office of OSHA conducted 1691 inspections. During this time period, safety inspections totaled 1532 or 90.6% and health inspections totaled 159 or 9.4% of the total inspections.
Statistics show the following:

  • 1244 Planned Inspections

  • 149 Complaint Inspections

  • 38 Accident and Fatality Inspections

  • 38 Referral Inspections

  • 63 Follow-Up Inspections

  • 74 Unprogrammed-Related Inspections

  • 84 Programmed-Related Inspections

A total of 2,479 violations were issued. Of these, 1,635 or 66.0% were Serious and 838 or 33.8% were Other-Than-Serious. There were five (5) Repeat violations and one (1) Willful violation recorded.
The adjusted penalties for these violations amounted to $720,033. Penalties collected during the fiscal totaled $605,454.25.
